Secretary

Secretaries (Administrators) are the heart of a local team. They help the team to stay connected and informed between meetings.

You will work closely with the Regional pr National Manager to organise meetings, produce and share the minutes/action points.

Treasurer

As Treasurer you will be the steward of the teams finances. You will be responsible for the financial budgeting, transactions, record keeping and reporting.

Importantly you will need to ensure that the financial activities of the team are in line with our charitable activities and regulations.

This role requires the holder to have basic book keeping knowledge but no formal qualifications are needed.

Marketing & Communications Officer

This role is to help promote the local activity and events, predominantly using social media.

You will work with other volunteers to identify local 'good news' that can be shared to the wider public to showcase our work in your area

Team Member

Being a Team Member allows you the opportunity to contribute to all areas of local BHS activities and gives you the chance to get involved and find out more before taking on a specific role.

Occasional Volunteer

You may be time pressured but we would still welcome your support when we need additional help.

You may only be asked to help once or twice a year - but it is good to know that you are there!

What our Volunteers say.....

Ruth Baxter, Volunteer, Yorkshire

“If anyone is considering volunteering or want to see more in their area, get involved! Don't worry about the time commitment, just offer what you can.”

Ann Kennedy, Volunteer, East of England

“I started volunteering when I retired as I wanted to help others enjoy riding out. The role is varied, from responding to consultations to pressing for equestrian access. I get great satisfaction from running pleasure rides and seeing the enjoyment on other people’s faces having had a fabulous ride out in the countryside.”
