How to set up a JustGiving page

Raising money online is one of the easiest ways to fundraise for British Horse Society. If you choose JustGiving, you can set up a fundraising page quickly and share it with friends, family and colleagues, so they can support you with just a few clicks.

You can set up your page in just a few steps:

  • Go to British Horse Society's JustGiving page and click 'Start fundraising'
  • Create your page and name your fundraiser
  • Set a fundraising target
  • Add a short message about why you are fundraising
  • Share your page with friends, family and supporters

Why use JustGiving?

  • It's a simple and secure way to fundraise online
  • It's quick and easy to set up and manage
  • People can donate from anywhere, at any time
  • You do not need to handle or collect cash
  • You can still fundraise offline if you want – this just gives people another way to give
  • If you are a UK taxpayer, JustGiving can also claim Gift Aid, adding at least 25p to every £1 donated, at no extra cost to you.

How JustGiving works

Once you've created your fundraising page, you will get a unique link that you can share with others. Friends and family can donate in minutes, and JustGiving takes care of payments and security. Donations are then passed directly to BHS.

Tips to raise more online

A few small things can make a big difference:

  • Start early – people like to see your progress
  • Explain why the cause matters to you personally
  • Add a photo to make your page more engaging
  • Share your page by email and on social media
  • Post updates as you get closer to your goal

You can also link your JustGiving page to a fundraising challenge or event if you are taking part in one.
