About me

I have competed British Dressage (BD) up to Advanced Medium, showed at county level, was on the Scottish Dressage Young Rider team and have competed in all riding club activities. I primarily coach beginners/happy hackers to grassroots competing. I enjoy working with young horses and using flatwork/poles to develop a well-rounded horse/pony. My coaching strengths include working with children and encouraging/improving confidence in riders.  I particularly enjoy seeing a partnership develop and the bond, respect and understanding created with horse and rider whether the rider wants to hack or go on to compete.

My client-centred service includes discussing a clients ultimate goal, then setting realistic mini goals and following bite sized steps to achieve this. While my coaching philosophy prioritises horse and rider enjoyment and harmony, my aim is for my riders to gain confidence on their journey to reach whichever goals they set. My structured horse-training approach is described a horse and rider centred, with a focus on breaking things down into manageable steps as not to overwhelm both horse and rider and increase confidence/fitness/strength and understanding. I can utilise any facilities available as I believe everything can be made into a learning opportunity.

I offer lessons starting from £25, and I am happy to travel within Argyll.
