Report an incident
Reporting your incidents helps us to better understand the rate of equine-related incidents across the UK. Anyone can report their incidents or near misses to us; you don’t have to be a BHS member.
Become a volunteer
Make a difference in your local area to improve the lives of horses and the people who care for them. Whether it’s for a couple of hours, two days a week, or helping at a one-off event, we’re really grateful for our volunteers who take part in positive local action.

The essential award for all riders. Ride Safe gives you the confidence to ride in the most common environments, keeping you and your horse safe.
Challenge Awards
If you’re looking to improve your bond with a healthy, happy horse, in or out of the saddle, the Challenge Awards are perfect for you. You can learn how to care for horses, develop hands-on, practical skills and get stuck in with the day-to-day tasks.
Find a coach
From your first lesson through to competition training, you can rest assured that you’ll be in safe hands with a BHS Accredited Professional Coach. All BHS Accredited Professional Coaches have professional qualifications and demonstrate their commitment to improving standards for both horse and rider by attending regular training to ensure they keep pace with new thinking and techniques.
